Matt Marsman - Lake Michigan Cottages

During our Wilderness Adventure Ranch, Matt serves as our logistics/safety/hydration leader and also is a mentor to the teens. Outside the program, Matt is a Realtor and owner of a vacation property company in Grand Haven. He enjoys fishing, classic cars and camping with his wife, Sandy and four kids. He has served on the Ranch Board of Directors since 2011.

Dave Dame - Trail Leader


Outside The Ranch, Dave has dedicated himself to helping others develop a healthy lifestyle; He manages a fitness center in downtown Grand Rapids, the GR Challenge Center. Dave has one step-daughter, Dakota, and a son, Lincoln. Dave loves sports; he plays golf and slow pitch softball. When asked why he is working at The Ranch, he said, "I think every child has the possibilities to be great. We just have to find their passion and help them be successful at attaining their goals."

The Founder

Patrick Adams - Founder/Executive Director 


Since 2005, when God first placed the vision for Remembrance Ranch on his heart, Patrick has helped guide this organization to be a positive and successful transformation program for each teenager and family we serve.  Patrick lives out his vision by serving as a Youth Leader during the program year and using his own personal story as a testimony to help teenagers see the potential in themselves.  

Dan Morton- Family Case Manager


Dan has a Masters of Educational Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University and has worked with Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family. He is also a former Guidance Counselor at Valleywood Middle School in Kentwood, MI. Dan launched a Premarital Mentoring Program for engaged couples at MHBC and leads interactive sessions for newly married couples at MHBC. Dan has such a BIG heart for the families we serve at RR!

Michelle Woods - West Ottawa Public Schools


Michelle serves as the Director of Instruction for West Ottawa Public Schools.  Michelle provides extensive professional development for differentiated instruction, as well as leadership for the district’s English Language Learners (ELL).  Michelle brings the Remembrance Ranch board extensive knowledge of the education system and a heart for changing lives! 

Diana Terpstra - DL Consulting Services 


Diana is a results-driven consultant with a profound knowledge of business process improvement initiatives.  She has a passion to identify and eliminate all forms of organizational waste, think outside the box, and push the envelope to a higher performance level. She and her husband enjoy travel, design, and of course watching their kids participate in many extracurricular activities.  

Pastor Dwayne Huff - RE/MAX 


Dwayne is a realtor for RE/MAX of Grand Rapids. Dwayne has been married to his wife Tiffany for 25 years. They have two children and have been foster parents to five teenage boys. Dwayne has worked with adolescents for over thirty years in various capacities, including camps, residential treatment, education, and church youth ministry.

Paul Porras - Brava LT, LLC, Spectrum Health


Paul is a senior project manager for Bravo LT supporting Spectrum Health IS Digital Portfolio. He is married, has three children, and enjoys obstacle course racing. Upon introduction, Paul felt the passion that Remembrance Ranch had for helping struggling youth succeed in life. He felt inspired and motivated by Jesus Christ to join the Board in an effort to support and help shape the future of Remembrance Ranch and its wonderful mission.

Jean Harrod, LMSW - D.A. Blodgett


Jenn has a passion for helping others.  She is a foster parent of two young brothers. She currently works at D.A. Blodgett – St. Johns as the supervisor to their Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services. Jenn was the first Teen Social Worker for Remembrance Ranch in 2012 and has since moved from that role to serving on the Board.  

Rob Terpstra - Haworth


Rob is married with 3 children and works as the head of facilities and real estate for Haworth.  He and his wife enjoy travel, design, and of course watching their kids participate in many extracurricular activities.  Rob was first connected to Remembrance Ranch in 2012 when his son was having trouble at home and in school. Since then, Rob and his family continue to support Remembrance Ranch through board membership, prayer partnership and many other opportunities.

Arica Adams - Assessment Coordinator


Arica graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. She also graduated from the University of Michigan with her Masters in Social Work. As our Assessment Coordinator, Arica is committed to helping families get connected to The Ranch. Arica cares deeply for the families she works with and it shows as she goes above and beyond to assure they feel the love of Christ throughout their time with The Ranch. When she isn't working at The Ranch, Arica works as a Public School Social Worker.

Kevin Vanderlugt - Youth Leader 


Kevin is a blessed man with two beautiful girls and a loving wife. When asked to summarize his life in one word, he answered "transformed." God has used Kevin's personal transformation to speak into the lives of the teens we serve. Kevin has been a Youth Leader since the inception of the R.R. Wilderness Program. When he isn't at The Ranch building new lives, Kevin works as a contractor building homes. 

Amy Mix - Gordon Food Services


Amy is the Director of Compliance and Compensation for Gordon Food Services. She is responsible for the effectiveness of compliance programs to ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal laws. Amy brings expertise with human resource practices, policy deployment and strategic planning.   

David Saylor - Youth Leader 


Dave has spent 12 of the last 15 yrs working with teens with challenging circumstances in addition to running groups for kids with substance abuse issues. Dave loves being able to help people get beyond any barriers they may have in their life. He is also the drummer in a prominent and upcoming Christian rock band. Dave and his wife of 5 years live in the Holland area and enjoy bicycling, hiking and camping with their 2 dogs, and good food.

Steve Seth -  Youth Social Worker


Steve earned a Psychology and Business BA degree from Calvin College and a Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University.  He has worked with youth in Grand Rapids area public schools for 24 years, previously in the classroom and now as a social worker.  Steve lives in Grand Rapids with his lovely wife and three active boys.  He’s an avid sports fan and has loved coaching his sons’ football, baseball, soccer, and basketball teams over the years.  Steve feels blessed that God has led him on a path to the Ranch.

Scot Rich - Amway Corporation


Scot has a passion for helping people, especially youth, find Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, which is ultimately what brought him to Remembrance Ranch.  Scot and his wife Toni have two children, Josh and Luke, and three granddaughters. He was born and raised in Michigan and has worked for the Amway Corporation for over 36 years.  His hobbies include family outings, fishing and bicycle riding over 3,500 miles a year.

Darrin Oliver - Youth Social Worker

                         Equine Therapist / School Liaison


Darrin graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA and Master of Social Work. He is a certified instructor of Becoming a Love and Logic Parent program and serves as our Equine Therapist. Darrin has a passion for helping children and families to find healthy perceptions of themselves so they can know themselves as complete, whole, safe and spiritual. Outside The Ranch program, Darrin is a local public school social worker.

Joel Van Wyk - Herman Miller Healthcare


Joel is the Director of the Clinical Product Category within Herman Miller Healthcare.  He is responsible for growth and profitability of the healthcare product portfolio.  His responsibilities including strategic planning, new product development, and customer project support.  Joel has served as a prayer partner and now serves as an active board member for Remembrance Ranch.
